The first Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University cup international sport tournament was held last weekend.
The tournament, organised by XJTLU Physical Education Centre and XJTLU Student Union, attracted student teams from XJTLU, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), Wenzhou Kean University and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
Tong Mou, a Year One student from the department of sport at XJTLU Student Union, who is studying BA Communication Studies, said “The tournament provided a platform for inter-university communication and strengthened friendship among the universities.”
Five sport events took place on the day, including badminton, football, tennis, men’s women’s basketball. XJTLU student teams won first place in the tennis and men’s and women’s basketball competitions. UNNC won first place in the badminton and football competitions.
